Andrew Sauerwin, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Hardin County, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, in Greenville, Mo.

He was born in Jefferson County, Ind., son of the late James Arthur Sauerwin and Loretta Louise Gaylord. He was united in marriage to Cora Lee DeShazier, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Sauerwin was a retired tow boat deck hand. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church.

Services were held on Friday, Oct. 22, at New Life Pentecostal Church in Savannah with Rev. Gerald Davis officiating. Burial was in the Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery at Savannah.

He is survived by four daughters, Brenda Sanders and Glenda Daugherty, both of Selmer, Wanda Hartle of Savannah, and Loretta Cowgill of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two sons, Marlyon Rainey of Savannah and Ricky Rainey of Lyles, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Augustus and one brother, James Sauerwin, both of Paducah, Ky.

He was also preceded in death by one great-grandson; one sister, Martha Jane Falsoll; and one brother, Arthur Albert Sauerwin.
