Orestes "Chico" Perez Orestes "Chico" Perez, 75, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Sept. 21. He was born in Las Villas Corralillo, Cuba, the son of the late Francisco and Leonor CePero-Perez. He was united in marriage to Penny Kay Crynes, who survives. Mr. Perez was a welder and a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 433 of Tampa, Fla. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge Grito de Cuba 311. He had lived in Anchorage, Alaska; Miami, Fla.; and Counce.
A memorial service will be held for Orestes "Chico" Perez of Counce on Saturday, Nov. 20, at New Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, 625 Old SR 57, starting at 2 p.m. Service at 3 p.m. with Paul Childers officiating.
In addition to his wife Penny, he is survived by a son, Orestes M. Perez of Miami Lakes, Fla.; four daughters, Nancy J. Perez of Thibodeaux, La., Leonora Perez of Quincy, Fla., Suzette McClure of Miami Lakes, Fla. and Christina Perez of Loxahatchee, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Ramon Perez of Katy, Texas; four sisters, Nereyda Urbano, Neisa Crespo, Martha Tobar and Aida Santiaga, all of Miami, Fla.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Francisco "Paco" Perez; and a sister, Nelita Perez.
