Willie Austin

William "Willie" Austin was born in Savannah, on Aug. 17, 1953, the son of the late Clarence and Ellen Qualls Austin.

On May 27, 1977, he was united in marriage to Lynn Morgan, who survives.

Mr. Austin was a dredge boat welder for Vulcan Materials. He loved to play golf and he was a former drummer.

Mr. Austin departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 9, at his residence in Shiloh, at the age of 57 years and 23 days.

In addition to his wife Lynn of Shiloh, he is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Austin Pantoja and her husband Angel of Waynesboro; one grandchild, Tristyn Pantoja; four sisters, Sue Martin and Deborah Morey, both of Milledgeville, Eva Cotner of Counce, and Elizabeth Lambert of Savannah; two brothers, Ray and Junior Austin, both of Savannah.

Mr. Austin is also survived by a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Breatherick and Wilma Lambert; and four brothers, Wilburn, Curtis, Robert and Hubbert Austin.

Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m., at Liberty Church of Christ in Michie with David Baker officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery at Michie.
