Paul J. Ross

Paul J. Ross was born in Tuckerman, Ark., on March 15, 1925, the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Myrtle Beatrice Barrett Ross.

On Oct. 13, 1945, he was united in marriage to Lois Clement, who survives.

Mr. Ross was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Adamsville. Mr. Ross loved gardening, playing music and fishing. He loved his family dearly and Mr. Ross was a beloved father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather.

He departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 8, in Stantonville, Tenn., at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 24 days.

In addition to his wife, Lois of Stantonville, Tenn., he is survived by four daughters, Sandra Williams Weeks and her husband Thomas of Adamsville, Linda Beckham and her husband Tommy of Stantonville, Donna Droke and her husband Terry of Lyles, Tenn. and Kaye Barham and her husband Harold of Adamsville; seven grandchildren, Cindy Williams Wolfe and her husband Forrest, Andy Williams and his fiancée Lalya Jones, Darin Beckham, Dana Beckham Higgins and her husband Greg, Rhonda Droke Reese and her companion Michael Lucas, Randall Droke and his fianceé Veronique Salimbene and Justin Barham; 10 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Bob Ross of Morris Chapel; one sister, Myrtle Lou Bingham of Memphis, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Adamsville with Lloyd Blankenship officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Hardin County.
