Odell Helms, 77, of Adamsville, died Tuesday, Aug. 3.
He was born in Henderson County, Tenn., the son of the late Hurbert Helms and Virgie Cagle Helms Kelly. He was united in marriage to Bobbie Smith, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Helms was a salesman for Winningham Furniture in Adamsville for 45 years. He had also worked for Parris Gun Factory for four years. Mr. Helms was a member of The Sanctuary of Milledgeville Pentecostal Church. Mr. Helms was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1953-1955.
Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 7, at The Sanctuary Pentecostal Church in Adamsville with David Weatherford, Daniel Scott, Kyle Finley officiating. Burial will follow in the Milledgeville Cemetery.
He is survived by a brother, Gerald Kelly of Reagan, Tenn.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Azell Helms.
