Ernest Stricklin Jr.

Ernest Stricklin Jr., 69, of Savannah, died Saturday, July 31.

He was born in Savannah, the son of the late Ernest Keaton and Clara Amy Melinda Youngblood Stricklin. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Bancroft, who survives.

Mr. Stricklin was a retired forklift driver for Kerr Glass. He was a member of the New Life United Pentecostal Church, the Moose Lodge, and the Glass Bottle and Blowers Association (G.B.B.A.).

Services were held on Monday, Aug. 2, at New Life United Pentecostal Church in Savannah with Rev. Gerald Davis officiating.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by four sons, Terry Gene Stricklin and David Ralph Zeigler, both of Savannah, Gary Wayne Stricklin of Crump and Ronald Lee Zeigler of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Boleyn of Crump; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Ancil Leon Stricklin of Joliet, Ill.; three sisters, Linda Gale Malone and Martha Sue Smith both of Savannah, and Ella Lucille Downing of Memphis.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nettie White; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Lynn Gwinn; a brother, David Stricklin.
