Ida Prater (7-2-10) services 7-4-10

Ida Jeter Prater, 86, of Clifton, died Friday, July 2.

She was born in Clifton, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Mary Jane "Mollie" Pevahouse Jeter. She was united in marriage to Millard Devergie Prater, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Prater had retired from Clifton Contracting, where she was a seamstress. She was a member of the Clifton Church of Christ.

Services were held on Sunday, July 4, at Clifton Church Of Christ with Tracy Love officiating. Burial was in the Prater’s Chapel Cemetery at Clifton.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura Prater and Nancy L. Prater, both of Savannah; two sons, Jerry M. and Mark A. Prater, both of Clifton; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, twin sister Ada Ruth Jeter of Clifton and Polly N. Jeter of Savannah.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Sharon Prater; a great-granddaughter; four brothers, Robert, Paul, Jack and Ed Jeter; two half-brothers, Neal and Carl Jeter; two half-sisters, Minnie Lineberry and Ola Williams.
