Dortha Jean Sweat Dortha Jean Sweat, 74, of Adamsville, died Thursday, June 17, at the Hardin Medical Center. She was born in Henderson, Tenn., the daughter of the late John Hugh and Bertie Rouse Hodges. She was united in marriage to Elmer (Capper) Sweat, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Sweat was a machine operator for River Heights Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Mt. Sharon Presbyterian Church. Services were held on Saturday, June 19, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Adamsville Chapel in Adamsville with David Alexander officiating. Burial was in the Adamsville Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Billy Sweat of Crump and John Sweat of Semi Valley, Calif.; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one sister, Jo Peal of Hartford, N.C. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Hodges.
