Marian Marie Hansen Richards, of Selmer, formerly of Adamsville, died Friday, June 4, at the age of 89 years, 1 month, 10 days.

She was born in Greenville, Mich., on April 25, 1921, the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Christenson Hansen.

Mrs. Richards had worked for the Michigan State Highway Department in the office. She had also worked at Richard’s General Store and as a night manager for Wesley’s Apartments in Adamsville for 12 years. Mrs. Richards moved to Savannah in 1971 and had also lived in Morris Chapel for 17 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bowling, water skiing, swimming, and doing embroidery work. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Adamsville.

She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Lavender and husband Robert of Savannah; five grandchildren, Bobby Lavender, Rhonda Springer, Blaine Lavender, John-Paul Lavender and Marilyn Rebstock; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, LaRue Risdon on Feb. 5, 1968; her second husband, Bill Richards on Feb. 5, 1987; two brothers, Russell and Chet Hansen.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, June 13, at 2:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist in Adamsville with Jimmy Cates officiating.
