Dumont Davis, 92, of Shelbyville, Tenn., formerly of Savannah, died Wednesday, March 31.
He was born in Clifton, the son of the late Joe and Icie Christian Davis.
Mr. Davis retired from Preston Carroll Construction Company of Clifton. He was a World War II Army Veteran, past President of the American Legion of Savannah and a member of the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church of Clifton.
Services were held on Saturday, April 3, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Billy Allegood officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Hardin County.
Mr. Davis is survived by a son, Michael Davis of Clifton; two daughters, Linda Davis Hix of Shelbyville, Tenn., Deirdre Davis-McCollum of Tega Cay, S.C.; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Glen Davis.
