Arnold Roberson

Arnold Roberson was born Nov. 9, 1930, in Jackson, Tenn., the son of the late Henry Thomas and Vassie Barnes Roberson.

Mr. Roberson was self-employed as a general contractor, and attended the River of Life Church in Crump. He enjoyed fishing and working with wood. He had been a resident of Shiloh until he moved to Earlington, Ky. about six months prior to his death.

Mr. Roberson departed this life on Saturday, Feb. 27, in Evansville, Ind., at the age of 79 years, 3 months, 18 days.

He is survived by his former wife, Agnes Roberson of Hammond, Ind.; two sons, David Roberson Jr. and wife Heide of Chicago, Ill. and Edward Roberson of Central City, Ky.; three daughters, Betty Brown and husband Bill of Jacksonville, Fla., Patsy O’dell and husband Mike of Savannah, and Belinda Powers and husband Joe of Earlington, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; two brothers:,Phelan Roberson of Arkansas and Jerry Roberson and wife Cindy of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Peggy Wallis of Selmer, Tommie Shepherd and husband E.P. of Counce, and Patricia Mraz and husband Jim of Lindenherst, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Louise Roberson of Chicago, Ill. and Barbara Roberson of Winnamac, Ind.; two uncles: Wilbur Barnes and James Warren Barnes, both of Selmer; one aunt, Pearl Wilson of Selmer; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberson was also preceded in death by three brothers.

Services were held on Tuesday, March 2, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer with Jack Irons officiating. Burial followed at Falcon Cemetery in Selmer.
