Nettie DeShazier Nettie Pearl DeShazier, 90, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Feb. 17. She was born in Lauderdale County, Ala., the daughter of the late Harvey Wesley and Elizabeth Jane Shepherd Kelley. Ms. DeShazier had been employed at the Candy Factory and the Savannah Button Factory. She had also worked as a CNA, maid and preacher. She attended the People’s Tabernacle Church of God. Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Peoples Tabernacle Church in Savannah with James Kirby officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah. She is survived by a daughter, Katharion Arnold of Savannah; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Cora Lee Saurwin and Nettie White; a son, Wesley DeShazier; two sisters, Angel Kelley and Mary Eunice Bishof; nine brothers, Hailey, William, George Henry, Edgar, Leonard, Lidge, Cecle, Gelspie and Dalton Kelley; a grandson and two great-great-grandchildren.
