L.C. Hampton L.C. Hampton, 75, of Adamsville, died Friday, Feb. 19, at his home. He was born in Savannah, son of the late Charles and Nola Pitts Hampton. He was united in marriage to the former Mary Finney, who survives. Mr. Hampton was retired from Centurytel, formerly Adamsville Telephone Company, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Adamsville First Baptist Church. Services were held Sunday, Feb. 21, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville with Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Adamsville Cemetery. In addition to his wife, Mary Hampton of Adamsville, he is survived by a sister, Alene Newland of Mobile, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a niece.
