Emma Morris

Emma Lois Melson Morris, 76, of Savnnah, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Hardin Medical Center.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late George Lawrence and Emma Morris Hickerson. She was united in marriage to Thomas Melson, who preceded her in death. She later married Donald Morris, who survives.

Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church.

Services were held on Friday, Feb. 19, at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Savannah with Jason Collins officiating. Burial was in the Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery at Savannah.

In addition to her husband Donald Ray Morris of Savannah, she is survived by four daughters, Cathy Oliver , Elizabeth Kiddy, Carolyn Murphy and Wanda Grimes, all of Savannah; four sons, Dennis Lee Melson, Ripley, Miss., James Ricky Melson, Savannah, Donnie Bruce Melson, Shiloh and Bradley Tim Morris, Savannah; 19 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Hill and Emma Petty, both of Waynesboro.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Evelyn Mills; two grandchildren; one sister, Frances Crumpton; and a brother, Willie Arthur Hickerson.
