J.L. Daniels

J.L. Daniels was born in Wayne County, on Nov. 28, 1921, the son of the late John Laurel and Mirl Scott Daniels.

On Jan. 6, 1951, he was united in marriage to Susie Ann Horton, who survives.

Mr. Daniels was a machine operator for Ripley Industries for 10 years. He also worked for Parris Manufacturing Company. Mr. Daniels was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Daniels was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.

He departed this life on Friday, Jan. 29, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn., at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 1 day.

Other than his wife Susie Daniels of Savannah, he is survived by one daughter, Deborah Clausel and her husband Melvin of Savannah; one son, Ricky Daniels and his wife Hara of Savannah; six grandchildren, Christopher and Brian Clausel, Nathan, Alexandra, Jake and Richie Daniels; one brother, Roy Daniels of Savannah; four sisters, Elois Ward, Vernal Paulk, Bonnie Sherrill and Doris Carroll, all of Savannah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Cleo Beckham and three brothers, Jobie, Leo and Eulus Daniels.

Services were held on Monday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Benny Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Cemetery at Savannah, Tenn.
