Emma Shutt

Emma Lou Shutt, 79, of Saltillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Richard Floyd and Alma Obed Morris Thompson. She was united in marriage to Charlie L. Shutt, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Shutt was a homemaker and was a member of Saltillo Church of Christ. She was very active in fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis.

Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Saltillo Church of Christ in Saltillo with Clint Hopper officiating. Burial was in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Saltillo.

Mrs. Shutt is survived by one daughter, Sonya Lou Ferrell of Saltillo; and one son, Tommy Lafayette Shutt of Paulsbo, Wash.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and David Shutt; one sister, Odessa Alexander; and two brothers, Lanois and Wayne Thompson.
