Winell Miller (1-17-10) services 1-20-10

Winell Miller, 89, of Savannah, died Sunday, Jan. 17.

She was born in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Audrey G. Beckham Phillips. She was united in marriage to Herbert Miller, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Miller had worked for the Brown Shoe Company, Cotton Patch, Woods Shoe Department Store, and she would sit with the elderly until she herself was 80 years old.

Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Eric Jones, Rev. Gerald Davis officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Cemetery.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jo Nell Smith of Hattiesburg, Miss. and Pamela Regina Highland of Savannah; two sisters, Gilberta Beth McCasland of Savannah and Lorene Lawthorn of Collierville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernetta Phillips; two brothers, Bill and Lloyd Phillips.
