Versie Smith (1-13-10) serivices 1-16-10

Versie Turnbow Smith, 94, of Crump, died Wednesday, Jan. 13.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late William Upton and Nancy Catherine Ratliff Turnbow.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Sinner’s Hope Church and had worked at Aqua Glass.

Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 16, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Lloyd Blankenship, Milton Huggins officiating. Burial was in the Crump Cemetery.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herchel Smith; six brothers, Nathan, Grady William, Robert Enlow, Linas Quentin, O.C. and James Other Turnbow; seven sisters, Ethel Lee Stinnett, Roxie May Pugh, Vinie Stinnett, Eassie Mary Pugh, Octavia Cunningham, Earsie Leeo Kirkman, and Earlie Loveda Blankenship.
