Predators

Ferocious and Fierce Predators wreak Havoc on Tough Guys and Gal
Predators, R, *1/2, Adrien Brody, Topher grace, Danny trejo, Alice Braga, Walton Coggins, Lawrence Fishburne. 20th Century Fox film. Director Nimrod Antal. Length 106 minutes. Well, here we go again. This over the top action movie starts out with strangers meeting on a planet after having been dropped from the air. One poor soul’s parachute did not open. He was lucky not to have faced the ordeal the rest of the group must contend with.
These assortment of characters reluctantly bands together in order to discover what this strange event is all about. Royce (Adrien Brody) becomes the leader. Some are hesitant to follow him, but it is obvious that he is tough and ready to find some answers.
The group faces danger around every corner. They must try to find out who are what is causing this turmoil for them.
From horrible beasts to more intelligent forms of life that are hideous looking and dangerous, the group must stave off the impending dangers.
The alien creatures are difficult to kill. However, sometimes it appears they are easy to destroy. It is just a little difficult to figure out without enough information.
I simply cannot give this much of a high rating. It has action, thrills, and spills, and more than enough gory scenes for most bloodthirsty fans.
One of the benefits of writing this column is seeing movies that I choose to watch. However, when one does not have much to choose from, it makes writing about movies a difficult task. I enjoy movies that are for the entire family, and I enjoy dramas that appeal to mature audiences. Comedies fit in the categories also. If these summer movies do not begin to bring some semblance of entertaining plots that appeal to a larger crowd, I may be lowering my ratings on everything I watch. Sometimes I will see a movie, and it becomes difficult to say enough bad things about it. Other times, the bad parts of the movie do not outweigh the good parts.
I am just saying that if one likes some over the top action with an extremely slow pace, this movie may be for that viewer.
Below is a little comparison of Jimmy Buffett’s song Cheeseburger in Paradise, “I like mine with Lettuce and Tomato, Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes, a big Kosher pickle and cold draft beer -* * *-------, which way to I steer for my cheeseburger in paradise.”
Movies should have some substance - a good plot – in depth acting, some action that ties it all together without leaving blanks in the story. That way the movie going fans will have a place to steer their vehicle to watch something that has a chance to feed the mind or at least give it a break from everyday routines. Sometimes movies need to be figured out. With “Predators,” the audience is just ready for it to end so they can be relieved from the torture.
Now there are some “Predator” fans. Fans will probably not be too disappointed. It could be just what they are looking to watch. The “Predator” movies started in 1987. Maybe this will bring some enjoyment to those that follow the series.
