Clash of the Titans
Greek Myth and CGI Energizes TitansClash of the Titans, PG-13, **1/2, Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Alexa Davalos, Elizabeth McGovern
Greek Mythology totally dominates this remake of the 1981 “Clash of the Titans.” The humans of Argos are revolting against the gods. They no longer feel the need to feed the gods selfish demands.
The viewer meets Zeus (Liam Neeson). Later we find out why Zeus is a little reluctant to unleash total chaos on the people of Argos. However, they are revolting against the gods.
Perseus (Sam Worthington) was found floating in a coffin in the ocean. The couple that found him became his father and mother. They are fishermen by trade.
After a disaster, the reluctant Perseus agrees to help destroy the gods and bring freedom to the people. Perseus is a demi-god. He is young and cocky.
Peresus takes a group of fighters with him to stop the gods. Along the way, they meet The Djinn who live in the desert and appear to be villains. However, they agree to help the cause.
The audience gets a dose of The Stygian Witches and some giant scorpions. Pegasus, a black horse with wings has a role in this plight for freedom.
Medusa is a horrible snake like serpent that must be destroyed. She does not take kindly to intruders in her domain.
Hades (Ralph Fiennes) is the god of the underworld. In the finale, we meet The Kraken a very dangerous creature. Perseus must endure lots of punishment and peril in order to restore the world he resides in to order.
The movie is packed with Computer Generated Images and more than enough action for thrill seekers in the world of movie going battle buffs and action addicts.
The audience keeps waiting for The Kracken to be unleashed on the people. It is a large dangerous creature.
One must have an interest in Greek gods, battles, and special effects to enjoy this one. It does not have a moment of boredom. I must say that when the thrills begin, they do not let up until the final scene.
Take a look at some Greek mythology about Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon along with Perseus, Medussa, Pegasus, The Stygian Withes, and The Djinn. Don’t forget about the Kracken. It does not show up until the very end, but it raises its evil head with a vengeance.
