Ruthie Earley, 87, of Counce, died Friday, Jan. 22, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born in Sunflower County, Miss., the daughter of the late Herman Lamar and Rosie Lee Smith Winters. She was united in marriage to Lorron Herbert Earley Sr., who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Earley was a homemaker. She was a member of Pickwick Freewill Baptist Church.

Services were held on Monday, Jan. 25, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Donald Simmons officiating. Burial was in the Center Hill Cemetery at Counce.

She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Hidalgo of Horn Lake, Miss., Meisha V. Simmons of Henderson, Tenn., Gwin Earley of Fort Worth, Texas and Carolyn Jean Waddell of Counce; three sons, Benjamin Lamar Earley Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas, Lorron Herbert Earley Jr. of Azle, Texas and Jerry L. Earley of Counce; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louie Winters of Savannah and Gayland Winters of Azle, Texas.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Marie Earley; two brothers, William and Clarence Winters and three grandchildren.
