Roger W. Cox, 57, of Pekin Ill., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009.

Born Feb. 10, 1952, in Princeton, Mo. to Troy and Eva Joe Young Cox. He married Valerie Doan on Nov. 25, 1984.

Surviving are his wife, his children, Vanessa Cox and Spencer Cox of Pekin, his parents of Savannah, Tenn.; brothers, Vernon (Cindi) Cox of Groveland, Ill., Warren (Suzann) Cox of Arvada, Colo. and Phillip (Jeanette) Cox of Highland Village, Texas.

Roger was an inspector at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in Oct. 2009.

He loved hunting and fishing and was a loving husband and father who will be missed by his family.

Visitation was from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 4, at Abts Mortuary, with Deacon Mark Wilder officiating. Cremation was accorded.
