Ruth Easley Cook Ruth Easley Cook was born in Hardin County on June 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Edwin Louie and Eunice Scott Easley. She was united in marriage to Cecil Earl Cook, November 1948; he preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1993. Mrs. Cook worked as the cafeteria manager at Nixon Elementary before retiring. She had also worked for Garan and Savannah Manufacturing as a seamstress. She loved to do crocheting, arts and crafts, and attending Maywood Christian Camp. She was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ. Mrs. Cook departed this life on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the age of 78 years, 4 months, 26 days. She is survived by three daughters, Rhonda Cook, Lesia Arnold, Freda Smith and husband James, all of Savannah; three sons, Bobby Cook and wife Kim, Freddy Cook and wife Joyce, all of Savannah, Calvin Cook of Jackson, Tenn.; a sister, Barbara Sue Brown of Savannah; four brothers, Doyle Easley, Scottie Easley, Leon Easley and Billy Easley all of Savannah; nine grandchildren, Roxann Johnson, Bubba Cook, Jamie Smith, Charlie Cook, Christopher Cook, Cecile Cook, Michael Cook, Korey Goodman, and Kayla Goodman; four great-grandchildren, Annie Cook, Stephanie Cook, Emma Ann Johnson, and Haley Cook. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Easley and Louie Easley; and a grandson, Jason Carl Smith. Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Gilbert Gough, Lance Foster officiating. Burial was in the Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery at Savannah.
