Evelyn Garrison (11-8-09) services 11-11-09

Evelyn Doris Schlicher Garrison was born in Dayton, Tenn., on March 30, 1929, the daughter of the late Clarence Augustus Schlicher and Cora Ann Burchard Schlicher.

She was united in marriage on June 11, 1945 to Charles Author Garrison, who preceded his wife in death on March 2, 1998.

Mrs. Garrison was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Savannah. She departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 9 days surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter in Spring Hill, Tenn.

She is survived by two sons, George (Teri) Garrison of Savannah and Rhea Garrison of Adamsville; and two daughters, Linda Tobin of Corona Del Mar, Calif. and Carol (Charles) Raines of Spring Hill, Tenn.; and daughter-in-law, Jan Garrison of Harbert Hills. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Other than her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Robert Garrison; and son-in-law Carl Tobin; and two brothers, Robert Schlicher and Ross Schlicher.

Services were held in the Shackelford Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m., with John Johnston and Lester Dickman officiating. Pallbearers were Dalton Smith, Steve Smith, Paul Varney, Jason Daughrity, Steve Jaggars and Steve Long. Burial was in Overbrook Cemetery.
