Dustin Ray Dustin Cody Ray was born Nov. 9, 1 989, in Jackson, Tenn., the son of Tony and Diara Welch Ray. Dustin was a 2008 graduate of McNairy Central High School, where he played football for the Bobcats for two years. He was a welder by trade, and a member of the Boilermakers Union, Local 263 in Memphis. Dustin attended the Eastside church of Christ in Selmer. Dustin departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 31, in Pocahontas, Tenn., at the age of 19 years, 11 months, 22 days. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Tony and Trish Ray of Pocahontas, Tenn.; his mother, Diana Welch Ray of Selmer; a sister, Krista Ray of Selmer; a step-sister, Melissa Laugherty and husband Barry of Booneville, Miss.; maternal grandparents James R. and Hilda Welch of Adamsville; paternal grandparents Basil and Lottie Ray of Selmer; maternal great-grandmother, Mary D. Welch of Adamsville; several aunts, uncles and cousins; a step-niece and nephew; and a host of extended family and friends. Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer with Gregg Worthey officiating. Burial followed in the Falcon Cemetery in Selmer. Pallbearers were Chris Taylor, Bobby Taylor, Ryan Smith, Jack Smith, Jonathan Gray, Nicholas Welch, Brian Welch and James Stricklin.
