William Love (9-25-09) services 9-28-09

William Royce Love was born Dec. 08, 1937, in Hardin County, son of the late William Ralph Love and Ouida Mae Ratliff Love Cockrill. On Dec. 24, 1960 he married the former Maxine Griffin. He was a line foreman for Tennessee Valley Electric Cooperative for 41 years. He was also a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church, IBEW Union for 40 years and HOG Motorcycle Club. Mr. Love liked riding motorcycles, fishing, collecting antique tractors, gardening and yard work. He was a devoted father and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Love departed this life Friday, Sept. 25, at his home in Savannah, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 17 days. He leaves his wife Maxine Love of Savannah; one daughter, Anette Love Shelby and her husband Michael of Savannah; one son, Jeffrey Love and his wife Mary of Savannah; five grandchildren, Brittney Shelby, Hannah Love, Madison Love, Sarah Beth Love, and Emily Shelby. Services were held on Monday, Sept. 28, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Artie Rivers, Philip Meek officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery at Hardin County. In addition to his parents, Mr. Love was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Love Kelley; grandparents, Robert T. and Faudie Sipes Ratliff, Thomas L. (Sug) and JoAnn Owen Love.
