Ronald Copous (5-22-09) services 5-24-09

Services for Ronald Edward Copous, age 69, of Savannah, was on Sunday, May 24, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Collinwood, Tenn., with Tony Polk officiating. Burial was in the McGlamery Cemetery at Collinwood, with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. He was born Oct. 17, 1939, the son of the late Ed and Vada Daniel Copous. Ronald lived in the Lutts community all his younger life. He and his family moved to Hardin County in April of 1985 where he worked for Tennessee Valley Electric for several years and was a self employed auctioneer. Mr. Copous departed this life on May 22, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, at the age of 69 years, 7 months, 5 days. In addition to his parents, Mr. Copous was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Copous and Tommy Copous; two sisters, Evelyn Holt and Bonnie Nell Divinney; and his stepmother, Fannie Copous. He was a member of Crossroads Union Church. He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Leatrice; a son, Kevin Copous and wife Peggy of Parsons, Tenn.; a daughter, Rhonda Austin and husband Jeff of Rogersville, Ala.; two grandchildren, Blake Short and Stetson Copous; step-grandchildren, Seth Renfroe and Bradley Austin; brothers, Earl Copous of Florence, Ala. and Billy Copous of Waynesboro, Tenn.
