Robert A. Duran, 33, a resident of Española, N.M. passed away on Sunday, Aug. 23, unexpectedly following an accident.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Angelo Duran; maternal grandparents, Elbert and Annie Stewart Eliff; uncles, Johnny Moe, Chester Duran and Roger Eliff; aunt, Judy Moe; paternal grandparents, Celestino and Jane Gallegos, great-grandparents, John and Hester Ganus Stewart, and H.K. and Myrtle Davis Eliff.
He worked at Chili’s and the N.M. Legislature.
Mr. Duran is survived by his mother, Ellen Jean Eliff Smith and husband Preston of Arkansas; father, Robert O. Duran of Santa Cruz, N.M.; brother, Chris Banchero and wife Susan of Virginia; grandmother, Sophie Block Moe of Española and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends, and employees at Chili's.
Funeral arrangements were by DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with Isaac Herrera officiating. Burial was at the Loma Vista Cemetery, Alcalde, N.M., with the following serving as pallbearers, Dillon Trujillo, Henry Quintana, Antonio Martinez, Chris Banchero, Preston Smith and Melvin Moe. Honorary pallbearers named are, Horacio Lopez, Elmer Garcia, Jimmy Zehm, Enrique Valdez, Justin Moe, Jimerson and Milo Stewart.
