Phyllis Haggard (8-8-09) services 8-15-09

Phyllis Haggard, 72, of Savannah, died Saturday, Aug. 8. She was born in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late George and Frances Hall Kopinski. She was united in marriage to J. B. Sanders, who survives. Mrs. Haggard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She was a retired nurse and had worked for Hardin County General Hospital. She was a member of East End United Methodist Church, D.A.R., and the Hardin County Humane Society. She was an advocate for humane protection. Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Rev. Mary Foote officiating. In addition to her husband, J. B., she is survived by sons, Tim Haggard of Nolensville, Tenn., Kenny Haggard of Hornsby, Tenn.; three sisters, Diane Carter, Wanda Smith both of South Haven, Mich., and Kathy Kopinski of Sacramento, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
