Warren "Pete" Crotts
was born Aug. 9, 1921, in Hardin County, the son of the late Lenord and Mamie Ozella Welch Crotts.
On Aug. 28, 1943, he married the former Lorene Petty.
Mr. Crotts worked as a lineman for Tennessee Valley Electric Cooperative for thirty-nine and a half years. An accomplished musician, he played the guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin and particularly enjoyed bluegrass and Southern gospel music. He also enjoyed collecting Indian arrowheads and other antiques. Mr. Crotts was a member of the Foursquare Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
He departed this life on Wednesday, June 24, in Savannah, at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 15 days.
Other than his wife, Lorene of Savannah, he leaves: one daughter, Janice Crotts of Savannah; one son, Larry Gene Crotts of Savannah; four grandchildren, Anthony D. Downing, Brian Shawn Austin, Jennifer Stuart, Matthew Crotts; two great-grandchildren, Corey B. Austin and Cameron B. Austin, two great- great grandchildren, Ashley Austin and Alexus Stuart; two sisters, Doris Baskins and Quanita Young, both of Savannah, and one brother, L. C. Crotts of Savannah.
Mr. Crotts was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristi Downing; and a brother, Bill Crotts.
Services will be held on Friday, June 26, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Bobby Pickens officiating. Burial will follow in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
