Msg. Kenneth Gant (7-29-09) services 8-1-09

Msg. Kenneth Wayne Gant, U.S. Army Retired, 76, of Bartlett, Tenn., formerly of Savannah, died at Methodist Hospital North on Wednesday, July 29. He was united in marriage to Patty Sue Durham Gant, who survives. In addition to his services in the Armed Forces he retired from the VA Hospital and was a department Sunday school teacher at Highland Heights Baptist Church. Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Crump First Baptist Church in Crump, with Allen Guyer officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County. He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Byars of Ferron, Utah; a son, Randy Gant of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naoma Feathers and Mildred Churchwell of Crump; and two brothers, Forrest Gant of Crump and Joe Gant of Waycross, Ga. Memorial donations can be made to Highland Heights Baptist Church or Memphis Union Mission.
