Lella Rogers (9-17-09) services 9-20-09

Lella Rogers, 92, of Savannah, died Thursday, Sept. 17. She was born in Marion County, Tenn., the daughter of the late George Washington and Lydia Ann Kilgore McCurry. She was united in marriage to David Edward Rogers, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ. Services were held on Sunday, Sept. 20, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Donnie Gean, Howard Rogers, Matthew Balentine officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah. She is survived by a son, Howard Rogers of Savannah; a daughter, Reva Jo Parrish of Memphis; a sister, Dorothy Jean Morrison of Whitwell, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She wasalso preceded in death by two brothers, Evans and Porter McCurry; two sisters, Christine McCurry, and Irene Ruth.
