Laura Jo Funderburk (4-18-09) services 4-21-09

Laura Jo Funderburk was born in Hardin County, on Jan. 12, 1973, the daughter of Carolyn Ann Chelette and the late Chester William Wilkerson. Ms. Funderburk was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal belief. Ms. Funderburk enjoyed riding around and looking at the countryside. She loved animals, especially her dog Tootee, whom she loved very much. Ms. Funderburk also enjoyed pitching horseshoes. She departed this life on Saturday, April 18, in Savannah, at the age of 36 years, 3 months and 6 days. Ms. Funderburk is survived by two daughters, Danielle Nicole Davis and Shannon Marie Garrard, both of Savannah; her mother, Carolyn Ann Chelette of Savannah; three brothers, Lonnie William Wilkerson, Steven Earl Mitchell and Michael Keith Mitchell, all of Savannah; her grandmother, Willie B. Stricklin of Savannah; and a special nephew, Joseph Allen Crotts Mitchell of Savannah. Services were held on Tuesday, April 21, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Larry Vandiver officiating. Burial was in the Campground Cemetery at Hardin County.
