Joel Churchwell (7-16-09) services 7-18-09

Joel Churchwell, 77, of Michie, died Thursday, July 16, in Michie. He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late James and Flora Fisher Churchwell. Mr. Churchwell retired after 12 years as a superintendent for Wrangler Boot Company. He was in the shoe business for 51 years. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of Lebanon Methodist Church. Services were held on Saturday, July 18, at Lebanon Methodist Church in Michie, with Danny Wilkerson officiating. Burial was in the Lebanon Methodist Church Cemetery at Michie. In addition to his wife, Joan of Michie, he is survived by one son, Stan Churchwell of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one sister, Janice Wood of Michie; and two brothers, Tommy and Danny Churchwell, both of Michie. He was also preceded in death by one grandson; and one brother, Buster Churchwell.
