Joe W. Green, of Hardin County, was born in Star City, Ark. on March 16, 1938, the son of the late Alfred and Viola Faye Robinson Green.
On Nov. 24, 1995, he was united in marriage to Lois L. Tuberville, who survives.
Mr. Green had worked for Amec-Kemtect Construction in the Tool Room and had served in the Army National Guard. He was a big hearted family man. He enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, and loved the outdoors. Mr. Green was a member of the Masons and the Shriners.
Mr. Green departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the age of 71 years, 4 months, 23 days.
In addition to his wife, Lois, Mr. Green is survived by two daughters, Sandra Bowden of Shiloh and Maryann Green of West Monroe, La.; two stepdaughters, Regina DeShazier of Savannah and Glenda Barber of Corinth, Miss.; a stepson, Johnny Miles of Bastrop, La.; three sisters, Nora Stone of St. Franceville, La., Linda Pirouznea of Slaughter, La., and Lillian Mansfield of Jackson, La.; a brother, Jimmy Dale Green of Ashdown, Ark.; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Joe Green; a brother, Larry Green; a grandson, Trey Amerson.
Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Darrell Moffett officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery at Shiloh.
