Jimmy Hurt was born in Hardin County, on Dec. 12, 1943, the son of the late Glen Edward and Ida Austin Hurt.
Mr. Hurt retired from Rayford Smith Construction as a carpenter. He had lived in the Hardin County area his entire life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working of all types, and enjoyed being outdoors. He attended New Beginning Church and Safe Harbor Church.
Mr. Hurt departed this life on Sunday, April 12, at the age of 65 years, 4 months.
Mr. Hurt is survived by two sons, Joe Glen Hurt and wife Olivia, Charlie Hurt and wife Misty, all of Savannah; one granddaughter, Callie Hurt; two step-grandchildren, Allie and Alex; a special friend, Sandi Whitehouse of Finger, Tenn.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hurt was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Hurt DeShazier.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 16, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah. Burial will follow in the Ward’s Cemetery at Hardin County.
