Jamie Casteel, 76, of Savannah, died Saturday, Sept. 26. He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Doss Wheeler and Madge Kay Bennett Casteel. He was united in marriage to Virginia Hazel Tilley, who survives. Mr. Casteel worked in the timber business. He was a member of Campground United Methodist Church. Services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Marvin Morrow officiating. Burial was in the Campground Cemetery at Hardin County. In addition to his wife, Virginia, he is survived by a son Travis Earl Casteel of Savannah; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Casteel; two sisters, Elizabeth Tidwell and Inez Bennett; four brothers, Harold, Wheeler, Roy D. and Lois Casteel.
