Gwen Majors (8-20-09) services 8-22-09

Gwen Majors was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Ramer, Tenn. the daughter of Edith Summers Cardwell and the late Eugene Cardwell. Mrs. Majors was united in marriage to Gerald Majors on June 1, 1957. She owned and operated Gwen’s Closet in Adamsville, for 15 years and was a member of the Canasta Club of Adamsville for 50 years. Mrs. Majors departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 20, in Adamsville, at the age of 71 years, 5 months, 30 days. She is survived by her husband Gerald Majors of Adamsville; a daughter, Kara Majors Hill and husband Cory of Jackson, Tenn.; a son, Clint Majors of Adamsville; mother, Edith Cardwell of Ramer, Tenn.; a sister, Karen Cardwell of Memphis; a brother, Sam Cardwell of Selmer, and three grandchildren, Baylee, Rob and Ben Hill. In addition to her father, Mrs. Majors was preceded in death by a son, Robert Gerald Majors II; and three brothers, Rodney, Royce and Jerry Clinton Cardwell. Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 1:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Adamsville, with Herb Adams officiating. Burial followed in the Adamsville Cemetery.
