Freddie Farris (8-7-09) services 8-10-09

Freddie Farris, 54, of Michie, died Friday, Aug. 7, at McNairy Regional Hospital, Selmer. He was the son of the late Leonard and Hazel Burns Farris. He was united in marriage to Regina Moore, who survives. Mr. Farris was a lab technician at Apac. He was baptized at Southside Baptist Church. Services were held Monday, Aug. 10, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Acton, Acton, Tenn., with Benny Taylor officiating. Burial was in Pebble Hill Cemetery, Michie. Arrangements by Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer. In addition to his wife, Regina Farris of Michie, he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Greer of Shiloh; a son, Justin Farris of Savannah; a step-son, Jeremy Moore; two sisters, Martha Steakley of Michie and Frances McCalister of Corinth, Miss.; three brothers, Ronald of Merced, Calif., Jackie and Haywood Farris, both of Michie; one grandchild, and three step-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Cornelius; and a brother, E.J. Farris.
