F.R. Jenkins (7-21-09) services 7-24-09

F.R. Jenkins, 76, of Selmer, died Tuesday, July 21, at his residence. He was the son of the late Thomas Henry and Mary Hazel Wood Jenkins. He was united in marriage to Charlene Parrish, who survives. Mr. Jenkins was an owner and operator of J&J Campground at Pickwick, and Jenkins Construction in Selmer. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church in Counce and had served in the United States Army. Services were held Friday, July 24, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer with Frank Whitman and Shannon Phillips officiating. Burial was in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens, Bethel Springs, Tenn. Arrangements by Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer. In addition to his wife, Charlene Jenkins of Selmer, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cone of Bethel Springs; a son, Larry Wayne Jenkins of Corinth, Miss.; a brother, Freddie Jenkins of Selmer; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Jenkins; and a grandchild.
