Ethel Goodman (9-07-09) services 9-11-09

Ethel Farris Goodman, 97, of Savannah, died Monday, Sept. 7. She was born in Shelby County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Truman Commodore and Ida Mae McRae Farris. She was united in marriage to James Wilbur Goodman, who preceded her in death . Mrs. Goodman had worked for Brown Shoe Company for six years and Citizens Bank as an administrative assistant for 27 years before retiring. She was a member of the Savannah First United Methodist Church, Savannah Garden Club, several Bridge clubs, and various other clubs. She had been a Cub Scout leader and Secretary of the Year in 1970. Services were held on Friday, Sept. 11, at First United Methodist Church in Savannah with Becky Wilkes, Brian Pollard, Dr. Ed Britt officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Hardin County. She is survived by a son, Jim Goodman of Eads, Tenn.; a daughter, Camille Judy of Longwood, Fla.; a sister, Annie Murray of Jackson, Tenn.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, John David Goodman; and a sister, Pearl Hurst.
