Edward Bain (5-31-09) services 6-2-09
Edward A. Bain, 86, of Hardin County, died Sunday, May 31.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Horace Edward and Margaret Ann Godwin Bain. He was united in marriage to Emma Lois Haggard, who survives.
Mr. Bain had attended Nashville Auto Diesel College and was a machinist for Parris Manufacturing. He also did cattle farming and mechanical work. He attended Robertson’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the European Theater 1944, earning three Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal.
Services were held on Tuesday, June 2, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jason Estes, Ty Hill officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
In addition to his wife, Emma Bain, he is survived by two sons, Boyce and Larry Bain, both of Savannah; two brothers, Floyd and Delbert Bain, both of Savannah; a sister, Sarah Margaret Owens of Savannah; three grandsons, seven great-grandchildren.
