Dewey Ledford Melson, 76, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Aug. 25.
He was born in Lutts, Tenn., the son of the late Dewey Hopson and Lula Lee Shubert Melson. He was united in marriage to Barbara Stricklin, who survives.
Mr. Melson was a maintenance truck driver for the City of Savannah. He enjoyed farming and saw milling.
Services were held on Friday, Aug. 28, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Robert House officiating. Burial was in the Graham Cemetery at Hardin County.
In addition to his wife Barbara of Savannah, he is survived by three sons, Dwayne, Ricky and Danny Melson, all of Savannah; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild;
four sisters, Alma Lee Hopper of Savannah, Lula Mae Rae of Memphis, Linda Kious of Jonesboro, Ark. and Evelyn Chalk of Morris Chapel; two brothers, Milton and Jack Melson, both of Savannah.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Benton Melson.
