Cornelia Haynes (8-3-09) services 8-6-09

Cornelia Horton Haynes, 72, of Hardin County, died Monday, Aug. 3. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Coleman Taft and Gladys Mae Evans Horton. Mrs. Haynes was a C.N.A. for Tri-County Convalescent Home. She had also been a restaurant worker, factory worker, and worked in a clothing store. Services will be held today, Thursday, Aug. 6, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Eddie Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens at Savannah. Mrs. Haynes is survived by two daughters, Gina M. Gargus of Corinth, Miss. and Kristie Hollan of Michie; a sister, Mary Melson of Savannah; a brother, Ancel Horton of Greensbury, Ky.; five grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Dean Pickford; her second husband, Melvin Haynes; a son, Anthony Dean Pickford; a sister, Virginia I. Johnson; and a brother, Kenneth Horton.
