Cletus Roberts (9-17-09) services 9-20-09

Cletus A. Roberts, 80, of Counce, died Thursday, Sept. 17, at his daughter’s residence in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. He was the son of Eula M. Shook Roberts and the late Buddie Roberts. He was united in marriage to Christa L. Roberts, who survives. He was a native of Bonnertown, Tenn.,  retired from Liberty National Insurance Company, and owner of Roberts Bait Shop at Pickwick. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of Counce First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, and the VFW. Services were held at Neal Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept. 20, with Thomas Mattox officiating. Burial was in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., with full military honors. In addition to his wife, Christa of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., he is survived by two daughters, Shirley R. Newton and Karen Anderson, both of Lawrenceburg; two sons, Terry L. and Jerry Roberts, both of Lawrenceburg; his mother, Eula Roberts of Lawrenceburg; one sister, Bonnie Roberts of Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
