Cledis Earl Franks, 70, of Hagerstown Md., passed away, Tuesday, July 28, at the Reeder’s Memorial Home, Boonsboro. He was born in Gillis Mills, the son of the late Edward Wayne Franks and the late Agnes Florene Perry Franks. Mr. Franks served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed with the Federal Government retiring after 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 126 in Forrestville, Md. Services will be held Friday, July 31, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, North Hagerstown, Md., with the Rev. Jacqueline A. Miller officiating. Burial was in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Anna Ruth Franks; two daughters and one son from a previous marriage, Charlotte Stidham, Carol Jewell and Dennis Franks all of Luray, Va.; and two sons, Edward Franks of Emporia, Kan., William Franks of Reston, Va.; four sisters, Shelby Wilkerson, Joyce Bishop, Linda Carroll, Janice Robertson, all of Tennessee; four brothers, Jerry, Roger, Danny and Michael Franks, all of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
