Charles Scott (8-24-09) services 8-27-09

Charles Lee "Tennessee" Scott, a former employee of J.E. Merit and resident of Geismar, La., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 24. He was 56 and a native of Savannah. Visiting will be at Shackelford Funeral Home, Savannah, on Thursday, Aug. 27, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday, from 11 am until religious services in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Burial to follow in Memory Gardens, Savannah. He is survived by his father, Dudley Scott; mother, Marjorie Boatwright Burross; three daughters, Shonda Hillensbeck and husband Brian, Stacy Cook and husband Kevin, and Samantha Lobell and husband Michael; son, Josh Hite and wife Christie; four sisters, Lisa, Theresa, Gloria, and Becky; two brothers, Pete and Scotty; six grandchildren, Ashlynne, Kennedy, Ethan, Paytlin, Patience and Alex. He was preceded in death by his step father, David Elvis Burross. Charles enjoyed music and attending concerts. He was also very good at playing the piano and keyboard.
