Burgess McCasland (4-10-09) services 4-12-09

Burgess F. McCasland, 90, of Savannah, died Friday, April 10. He was born in Olive Hill, son of the late Andrew Franklin and Nina Annie Wilson McCasland. He was united in marriage to Gilberta Phillips, who survives. Mr. McCasland was a heavy equipment operator for the Hardin County Highway Department. He was a member of the Savannah church of Christ, an Army Veteran. Services were held on Sunday, April 12, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with David Baker, Howard Rogers, Jack Snelling officiating. Burial was in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah. In addition to his wife, Gilberta of Savannah, he is survived by two daughters, Inez Gilkey and Sheryl Wolfe, both of Savannah; one son, Kerry B. McCasland of Crump; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Wright of Savannah and Sue Harris of Savannah . He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Grady McCasland.
