Bobby Ray Franks (9-29-09) services 10-1-09

Bobby Ray Franks, of Savannah, was born in Hardin County on Aug. 27, 1944, the son of the late Ray and Frances Bridges Franks. On May 15, 1965, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Prater, who survives. Mr. Franks was a truck driver for his timber business. He was a member of the Savannah Moose Lodge. Mr. Franks enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and mules. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family and working with timber. Mr. Franks departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 2 days. Other than his wife, Carolyn of Savannah, he is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Frazier and her husband Greg of Savannah; two sons, David Lee Franks and his wife Amy of Savannah and Bobby Alan Franks and his wife Jessica of Morris Chapel; 11 grandchildren, Kristie Franks, Chace Franks, Sydney Franks, Tiffany Franks, Cassidy Frazier, Heath Frazier, Shantina Frazier, Alli Franks, Ashlynn Franks, Gavin Franks and Chloe Franks; two brothers, Billy Franks of Clifton and Joel Franks of Savannah; three sisters, Betty Blackwelder and Patricia Hutton, both of Savannah, and Glenda Ricketts of Dallas, Texas. Other than his parents, Mr. Franks was also preceded in death by one son, Mark Franks. A graveside service was held on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hardin County with Duwayne Pounds officiating.
