Billy Joe Bridges was born in Wayne County, Tenn., on March 31, 1942, son of the late Joel Ray and Clara Monetta Howell Bridges.
He married the former Pamela Sue Adams on April 24, 2005.
Mr. Bridges was a self employed carpenter. He was a Baptist in belief.
He departed from this life May 7, in Waynesboro, at the age of 67 years, 1 month, and 27 days.
Mr. Bridges leaves his wife, Pamela Sue Bridges of Waynesboro; one daughter, Angela Jo Bridges Free and her husband Charles of Clifton; two sons, Billy Robert Bridges and his wife Tina of Clifton and Barry Glen Bridges of Savannah; one step son, Robert Lee Adams of Clifton; seven grandchildren, Shannon Boyd, Eli Bridges, Jarrod Dicus, Brittany Stanfill, Kirby Bridges, Kasha Bridges, and Brian Free; seven great grandchildren, Zoegrace Boyd, Olivia Free, Thomas Free, Chloe Stanfill, Brenlee Bridges, Marty Stanfill and Jacob Stanfill.
Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Edward Bridges; a sister, Doris Faye Steele; his grandparents, Marvin and Nillie Bridges and Jessie and Nora Howell.
Services were held on Monday, May 11, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Billy Wright officiating. Burial was in the Lynch-Boyd Cemetery at Wayne County.
